Avonworth Antelopes (Pittsburgh, PA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host South Allegheny Gladiators (McKeesport, PA), 52-12 in a league bout.

With the win, Avonworth upgrades its record to 4-4 on the season. The Antelopes travel to Hopewell (Aliquippa, PA) to play the Vikings in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 4-3.

Next up, the Gladiators play the East Allegheny Wild Cats (North Versailles, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 2 bout, on Thursday, January 5. South Allegheny will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Wild Cats go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 64-9 league loss to Seton LaSalle (Pittsburgh, PA).
