St. Croix Central Panthers (Hammond, WI) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Amery Warriors (Amery, WI), 71-61 in a league bout.

With the victory, St. Croix Central upgrades its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Panthers host Red Wing (Red Wing, MN) to play the Wingers in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 4. The Wingers come into the bout with a record of 6-2. Red Wing won 93-77 in their recent non-league bout against Hill-Murray (Maplewood, MN)

Next up, the Warriors play the Grantsburg Pirates (Grantsburg, WI) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 4. Amery will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 73-62 non-league loss to Cumberland (Cumberland, WI).
