Asher Indians (Asher, OK) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Varnum Whippets (Seminole, OK), 59-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Asher upgrades its record to 9-6 on the season. The Indians travel to Stratford (Stratford, OK) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 4. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 4-5. Stratford lost 50-43 in their recent league bout against Tupelo (Tupelo, OK)

Next up, the Whippets clash with the Macomb Hornets (Macomb, OK) in a Little River bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Varnum will attempt to upgrade on its 9-3 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 54-44 non-league win over Paoli (Paoli, OK).
