Big Sandy Wildcats (Big Sandy, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting New Diana Eagles (Diana, TX), 51-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Big Sandy upgrades its record to 8-9 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Union Grove (Gladewater, TX) to play the Lions in a 2A Region III District 21 bout on Friday, January 5. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 8-10.

Next up, the Eagles play the East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers (Longview, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. New Diana will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Chargers come into the bout with a 12-4 record after their 61-34 non-league win over Christian Home Educators (Sulphur Springs, TX).
