With the victory, Brookeland upgrades its record to 14-7 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Burkeville (Burkeville, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout on Friday, January 5. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 7-7.

Next up, the Pirates play the High Island Cardinals (High Island, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout, on Friday, January 5. Spurger will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 6-8 record after their 80-50 league loss to Leggett (Leggett, TX).
