Buna Cougars (Buna, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Kirbyville Wildcats (Kirbyville, TX), 64-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Buna upgrades its record to 13-9 on the season. The Cougars travel to Hardin (Hardin, TX) to clash with the Hornets in a 3A Region III District 22 bout on Friday, January 5. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 7-12. Hardin lost 79-28 in their recent league bout against Orangefield (Orangefield, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Anahuac Panthers (Anahuac, TX) in a 3A Region III District 22 bout, on Friday, January 5. Kirbyville will attempt to upgrade on its 8-13 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 8-10 record after their 54-52 league win over East Chambers (Winnie, TX).
