The Byron Bears (Byron, MN) basketball knocked off the visiting Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars (Zumbrota, MN), 71-56 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Bears (5-2) will now prepare for their test against Goodhue (Goodhue, MN). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 6-4 record. In their last test, Goodhue notched a victory over Fillmore Central (Harmony, MN), 80-78, in a league test.
The Cougars now own a 6-3 record. They play next when they host Lourdes for a AA Section 1 test on Friday, January 5. Zumbrota-Mazeppa will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 69-39 non-league loss to New Richmond (New Richmond, WI). The Eagles record now stands at 3-7.
