Champlain Valley Union Redhawks (Hinesburg, VT) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Essex Hornets (Essex Junction, VT), 79-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Champlain Valley Union upgrades its record to 6-0 on the season. The Redhawks travel to Rice Memorial (South Burlington, VT) to clash with the Green Knights in a Metro bout on Friday, January 5. The Green Knights go into the bout with a record of 6-0. Rice Memorial won 78-74 in their recent league bout against St. Johnsbury Academy (St. Johnsbury, VT)

Next up, the Hornets clash with the South Burlington Wolves (South Burlington, VT) in a Metro bout, on Friday, January 5. Essex will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Wolves go into the bout with a 6-2 record after their 97-60 non-league win over Milton (Milton, VT).
