Era Hornets (Era, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Chico Dragons (Chico, TX), 81-39 in a league bout.

With the win, Era upgrades its record to 6-5 on the season. The Hornets host Tioga (Tioga, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Region II District 13 bout on Friday, January 5. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 4-9. Tioga lost 54-46 in their recent league bout against Collinsville (Collinsville, TX)

Next up, the Dragons play the Archer City Wildcats (Archer City, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Chico will attempt to upgrade on its 2-13 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 6-12 record after their 49-37 non-league win over Saint Jo (Saint Jo, TX).
