The McGehee Owls (McGehee, AR) basketball felled the host DeWitt Dragons (DeWitt, AR), 53-38 in Tuesday's league test.

The Owls (13-3) will now prepare for their test against Smackover (Smackover, AR). The Buckaroos go into the 3A Region 8 test with a 5-7 record. In their last test, Smackover was beaten by Dumas (Dumas, AR), 72-41, in a league test.

The Dragons now own a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Harmony Grove for a 3A Region 8 test on Friday, January 5. DeWitt will encounter a Hornets squad coming off a 79-67 non-league win over Hermitage (Hermitage, AR). The Hornets record now stands at 5-5.
