East St. Louis Flyers (East St. Louis, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Edwardsville Tigers (Edwardsville, IL), 56-51 in a league bout.

With the win, East St. Louis upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Flyers travel to O'Fallon (O'Fallon, IL) to play the Panthers in a Southwestern bout on Friday, January 5. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 10-7. O'Fallon lost 57-53 in their recent league bout against Belleville East (Belleville, IL)

Next up, the Tigers play the Collinsville Kahoks (Collinsville, IL) in a Southwestern bout, on Friday, January 5. Edwardsville will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Kahoks go into the bout with a 17-0 record after their 63-33 non-league win over Jacksonville (Jacksonville, IL).
