The Waterville Panthers basketball team scored 56 points and held the visiting Erskine Academy Eagles to 54 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Panthers now sport a 1-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Belfast for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 4. Waterville will battle a Lions team coming off a 64-28 non-league loss to Mount View (Thorndike, ME). The Lions record now stands at 0-5.

The Eagles (2-3) will now prepare for their contest against Medomak Valley (Waldoboro, ME). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 7-1 record. In their last contest, Medomak Valley nudged Lincoln Academy (Newcastle, ME), 77-64, in a league contest.
