The Lancers enter the game with a 3-7 record after their 47-32 non-league loss to Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA).

With the defeat, Halifax County moves to 5-6 on the year. The Comets travel to Martinsville (Martinsville, VA) to face the Bulldogs in a Piedmont test on Friday, January 5. The Bulldogs go into the test with a record of 9-5. Martinsville won 58-52 in their recent league test against Bassett (Bassett, VA)
