With the victory, Mansfield Summit upgrades its record to 12-8 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Joshua (Joshua, TX) to play the Owls in a 5A Region I District 8 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Owls come into the challenge with a record of 5-11.

Next up, the Cougars play the Mansfield Timberview Wolves (Arlington, TX) in a 5A Region I District 8 challenge, on Friday, January 5. Seguin will attempt to upgrade on its 13-10 season record. The Wolves come into the challenge with a 17-6 record after their 56-45 non-league loss to Chisholm Trail (Fort Worth, TX).
