The Wells Pirates basketball team scored 58 points and held the visiting Neches Tigers to 39 in the Pirates league triumph on Tuesday.
The Pirates now sport a 9-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Centerville for a 1A Region IV District 27 contest on Friday, January 5. Wells will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 93-44 league loss to Martinsville (Martinsville, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 5-11.
The Tigers (12-6) will now prepare for their contest against Kennard (Kennard, TX). The Tigers enter the 1A Region IV District 27 contest with a 5-14 record. In their last contest, Kennard was defeated by Slocum (Elkhart, TX), 54-52, in a league contest.
