Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Union Area thwarts Aquinas Academy

The Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) basketball knocked off the host Aquinas Academy Crusaders (Gibsonia, PA), 51-37 in Tuesday's league test.

The Scotties (4-4) will now prepare for their test against Bishop Canevin (Pittsburgh, PA). The Crusaders go into the WPIAL 1A 1 test with a 2-6 record. In their last test, Bishop Canevin went down by Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Coraopolis, PA), 57-23, in a non-league test.

The Crusaders now own a 9-2 record. They play next when they travel to Eden Christian Academy for a WPIAL 1A 1 test on Thursday, January 4. Aquinas Academy will encounter a squad coming off a 62-29 non-league win over Laurel (New Castle, PA). The record now stands at 5-5.
