New York High School Basketball - Nichols nips Aquinas Institute

Nichols Vikings (Buffalo, NY) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Aquinas Institute Little Irish (Rochester, NY), 49-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Nichols upgrades its record to 4-4 on the season. The Vikings travel to St. Mary's (Lancaster, NY) to play the Lancers in a Monsignor Martin bout on Thursday, January 4. The Lancers go into the bout with a record of 8-3. St. Mary's won 68-61 in their recent non-league bout against Harrison (Harrison, NY)

Next up, the Little Irish play the Bishop Kearney Kings (Rochester, NY) in a Section 5 Private Parochial bout, on Thursday, January 4. Aquinas Institute will attempt to upgrade on its 5-1 season record. The Kings go into the bout with a 3-3 record after their 70-55 non-league loss to Cardinal O'Hara (Tonawanda, NY).
