The Pioneers (2-6) will now prepare for their outing against Geibel Catholic (Connellsville, PA). The Gators go into the WPIAL 1A 2 outing with a 7-3 record. In their last outing, Geibel Catholic was tipped by Monessen (Monessen, PA), 54-42, in a league outing.

The Eagles now hold a 2-8 record. They play next when they travel to Mapletown for a WPIAL 1A 2 outing on Thursday, January 4. Avella will clash with a Maples squad coming off a 46-38 league win over Jefferson-Morgan (Jefferson, PA). The Maples record now stands at 4-6.
