Avonworth Antelopes (Pittsburgh, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting South Allegheny Gladiators (McKeesport, PA), 55-14 in a league bout.

With the win, Avonworth upgrades its record to 9-0 on the season. The Antelopes travel to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Coraopolis, PA) to clash with the Chargers in a WPIAL 3A 2 bout on Friday, January 5. The Chargers go into the bout with a record of 7-4. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart lost 60-57 in their recent league bout against Keystone Oaks (Pittsburgh, PA)

Next up, the Gladiators clash with the East Allegheny Wild Cats (North Versailles, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 2 bout, on Thursday, January 4. South Allegheny will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Wild Cats go into the bout with a 0-9 record after their 76-20 league loss to Seton LaSalle (Pittsburgh, PA).
