The Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Mustangs basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting Springfield Tigers to 27 in the Mustangs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mustangs now sport a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop for a A Section 2 contest on Thursday, January 4. Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart will battle a Thunderbirds team coming off a 57-48 non-league loss to Minnesota Valley Lutheran (New Ulm, MN). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 4-5.

The Tigers (5-5) will now prepare for their contest against Redwood Valley (Redwood Falls, MN). The Cardinals enter the non-league contest with a 6-3 record. In their last contest, Redwood Valley triumphed over Willmar (Willmar, MN), 54-41, in a non-league contest.
