With the win, Velma Jackson upgrades its record to 5-10 on the season. The Falcons host Nanih Waiya (Louisville, MS) to clash with the Warriors in a 1A Region 6 bout on Friday, January 5. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 12-2. Nanih Waiya won 57-44 in their recent league bout against McAdams (McAdams, MS)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Leake County Gators (Walnut Grove, MS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Ethel will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record.
