In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Farwell Steers (Farwell, TX) basketball squad edged the visiting Nazareth Swifts (Nazareth, TX), by a count of 37-32.
The Steers (19-3) will now prepare for their outing against Panhandle (Panhandle, TX). The Panthers go into the 2A Region I District 3 outing with a 9-4 record. In their last outing, Panhandle was tipped by New Home (New Home, TX), 50-39, in a non-league outing.
The Swifts now hold a 5-9 record. They play next when they travel to Hart for a 1A Region I District 4 outing on Friday, January 5. Nazareth will clash with a Longhorns squad coming off a 47-45 non-league loss to Bovina (Bovina, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 9-7.
