Gilman Pirates (Gilman, WI) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Rib Lake Redmen (Rib Lake, WI), 60-55 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gilman upgrades its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Pirates host Spencer (Spencer, WI) to play the Rockets in a Cloverbelt - East bout on Thursday, January 4. The Rockets come into the bout with a record of 4-7. Spencer won 58-30 in their recent non-league bout against Northland Lutheran (Mosinee, WI)

Next up, the Redmen play the Assumption Royals (Wisconsin Rapids, WI) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Rib Lake will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Royals come into the bout with a 10-0 record after their 69-40 league win over Stratford (Stratford, WI).
