Mt. Zion Bulldogs (Jonesboro, GA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Hampton Hornets (Hampton, GA), 51-43 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mt. Zion upgrades its record to 5-7 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Woodland (Stockbridge, GA) to play the Wolfpack in a AAAA Region 5 bout on Friday, January 5. The Wolfpack come into the bout with a record of 8-6. Woodland won 61-52 in their recent league bout against Pace Academy (Atlanta, GA)

Next up, the Hornets play the Stockbridge Tigers (Stockbridge, GA) in a AAAA Region 5 bout, on Friday, January 5. Hampton will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 9-4 record after their 53-38 non-league win over Midtown (Atlanta, GA).
