The Hawkins Hawks basketball team scored 55 points and held the visiting McLeod Longhorns to 26 in the Hawks league triumph on Tuesday.

The Hawks now sport a 10-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Harleton for a 2A Region III District 21 contest on Friday, January 5. Hawkins will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 61-25 league loss to Linden-Kildare (Linden, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-8.

The Longhorns (8-12) will now prepare for their contest against Ore City (Ore City, TX). The Rebels enter the 2A Region III District 21 contest with a 0-11 record. In their last contest, Ore City was routed by Union Grove (Gladewater, TX), 43-11, in a league contest.
