Hoisington Cardinals (Hoisington, KS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Smoky Valley Vikings (Lindsborg, KS), 49-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hoisington upgrades its record to 6-0 on the season. The Cardinals host Beloit (Beloit, KS) to play the Trojans in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 4-3. Beloit lost 32-30 in their recent non-league bout against Riley County (Riley, KS)

Next up, the Vikings play the Hillsboro Trojans (Hillsboro, KS) in a Central Kansas bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Smoky Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 7-0 record after their 59-10 non-league win over Trinity (Hutchinson, KS).
