Lithia Springs Lions (Lithia Springs, GA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Villa Rica Wildcats (Villa Rica, GA), 58-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Lithia Springs upgrades its record to 4-8 on the campaign. The Lions host Jackson (Atlanta, GA) to play the Jaguars in a AAAAA Region 5 bout on Friday, January 5. The Jaguars come into the bout with a record of 10-1. Jackson won 84-23 in their recent league bout against Chapel Hill (Douglasville, GA)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Central Lions (Carrollton, GA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Villa Rica will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 34-17 non-league win over Haralson County (Tallapoosa, GA).
