Melcher-Dallas Saints (Melcher, IA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Murray Mustangs (Murray, IA), 58-39 in a league bout.

With the victory, Melcher-Dallas upgrades its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The Saints host Seymour (Seymour, IA) to play the Warriors in a Bluegrass bout on Friday, January 5. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 5-5. Seymour lost 53-28 in their recent non-league bout against Adair County (Columbia, KY)

Next up, the Mustangs play the East Union Eagles (Afton, IA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 4. Murray will attempt to upgrade on its 0-10 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 51-29 non-league loss to Lamoni (Lamoni, IA).
