Mississippi High School Basketball - Morton tipped by Quitman

The Quitman Panthers basketball team scored 40 points and held the visiting Morton Panthers to 35 in the Panthers league triumph on Tuesday.

The Panthers now sport a 13-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northeast Jones for a 4A Region 5 contest on Friday, January 5. Quitman will meet a Tigers team coming off a 52-44 non-league win over South Jones (Ellisville, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 9-5.

The Panthers (15-1) will now prepare for their contest against Scott Central (Forest, MS). The Rebels enter the non-league contest with a 10-6 record. In their last contest, Scott Central nudged Lake (Lake, MS), 39-38, in a non-league contest.
