Stevens Cardinals (Claremont, NH) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Newport Tigers (Newport, NH), 46-21 in a league bout.

With the win, Stevens upgrades its record to 6-1 on the season. The Cardinals host Mascoma (Canaan, NH) to clash with the Royals in a Division III bout on Friday, January 5. The Royals go into the bout with a record of 3-4. Mascoma won 57-6 in their recent league bout against Inter-Lakes (Meredith, NH)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Monadnock Huskies (East Swanzey, NH) in a Division III bout, on Friday, January 5. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 48-42 league loss to Kearsarge (North Sutton, NH).
