The Northwestern Regional Highlanders basketball team scored 52 points and held the visiting Nonnewaug Chiefs to 41 in the Highlanders league triumph on Tuesday.

The Highlanders now sport a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gilbert for a Berkshire contest on Thursday, January 4. Northwestern Regional will battle a Yellowjackets team coming off a 48-34 league win over Litchfield (Litchfield, CT). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 5-2.

The Chiefs (3-4) will now prepare for their contest against Shepaug Valley (Washington, CT). The Spartans enter the Berkshire contest with a 2-6 record. In their last contest, Shepaug Valley was defeated by Terryville (Terryville, CT), 55-21, in a league contest.
