Washington Hatchets (Washington, IN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Southridge Raiders (Huntingburg, IN), 37-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Washington upgrades its record to 15-3 on the season. The Hatchets travel to Pike Central (Petersburg, IN) to clash with the Chargers in a Pocket bout on Thursday, January 4. The Chargers go into the bout with a record of 2-13. Pike Central won 41-30 in their recent non-league challenge against North Daviess (Elnora, IN)

Next up, the Raiders play the Mt. Vernon Wildcats (Mt. Vernon, IN) in a Pocket challenge, on Friday, January 5. Southridge will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 2-14 record after their 78-20 league loss to Gibson Southern (Fort Branch, IN).
