Southside Cardinals (San Antonio, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Southwest Legacy Titans (Von Ormy, TX), 52-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Southside upgrades its record to 17-8 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Winn (Eagle Pass, TX) to play the Mavericks in a 5A Region IV District 28 bout on Friday, January 5. The Mavericks come into the bout with a record of 9-17. Winn lost 70-29 in their recent league bout against McCollum (San Antonio, TX)

Next up, the Titans play the South San Antonio Bobcats (San Antonio, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 28 bout, on Friday, January 5. Southwest Legacy will attempt to upgrade on its 16-10 season record. The Bobcats come into the bout with a 3-19 record after their 55-30 league loss to Harlandale (San Antonio, TX).
