Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting John Battle Trojans (Bristol, VA), 45-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gate City upgrades its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to Lee (Jonesville, VA) to play the Generals in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Generals come into the bout with a record of 0-2.

Next, the Trojans encounter the Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA) in a non-league test, on Friday, January 5. John Battle will attempt to advance on its 5-2 season record.
