The Hancock Owls basketball team scored 72 points and limited the host Battle Lake Battlers to 36 in the Owls league triumph on Thursday.

The Owls now have a 4-4 record. They play next when they travel to Underwood for a A Section 6 game on Friday, January 3. Hancock will confront a Rockets team coming off a 64-60 league win over Rothsay (Rothsay, MN). The Rockets record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Battle Lake falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Battlers travel to Brandon/Evansville (Brandon, MN) to confront the Chargers in a A Section 6 game on Tuesday, January 7. The Chargers go into the game with a record of 5-3. Brandon/Evansville won 59-47 in their recent non-league game against Kimball (Kimball, MN)
