The Cherokee Indians defeated the visiting Colbert Heights Wildcats basketball squad by a final score of 48-38 in Thursday's non-league outing.
Next, the Indians clash with the Waterloo Cougars (Waterloo, AL) in a 1A Area 15 outing, on Friday, January 3. Cherokee will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Cougars come into the outing with a 5-10 record after their 52-49 non-league loss to Colbert Heights (Tuscumbia, AL).
The Wildcats (11-8) will now prepare for their outing against Phil Campbell (Phil Campbell, AL). The Bobcats come into the 3A Area 15 outing with a 9-11 record. In their last outing, Phil Campbell was defeated by Mars Hill Bible (Florence, AL), 72-45, in a league outing.
