The West Union Eagles basketball team scored 72 points and limited the host New Site Royals to 70 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Eagles now possess a 16-3 record. They play next when they host Alcorn Central for a non-league game on Friday, January 3. West Union will play a Bears team coming off a 58-44 non-league win over North Panola (Sardis, MS). The Bears record now stands at 10-6.

With the loss, New Site falls to 6-6 on the campaign. The Royals travel to Hatley (Amory, MS) to play the Tigers in a 2A Region 1 game on Tuesday, January 14. The Tigers go into the game with a record of 6-9.
