The Saugus Sachems basketball team scored 51 points and limited the host Winthrop Vikings to 49 in the Sachems league triumph on Thursday.

The Sachems now have a 3-2 record. They play next when they host Swampscott for a Northeastern - Small game on Monday, January 6. Saugus will confront a Big Blue team coming off a 71-29 non-league win over Mystic Valley Regional (Malden, MA). The Big Blue record now stands at 4-0.

With the loss, Winthrop falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Vikings host Salem (Salem, MA) to confront the Witches in a Northeastern - Small game on Monday, January 6. The Witches go into the game with a record of 0-1. Salem lost 57-41 in their recent league game against Beverly (Beverly, MA)
