In Thursday's league test, the Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA) basketball squad trounced the visiting Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA), by a final score of 58-14.
Next, the Pioneers clash with the George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA) in a Mountain Empire test, on Tuesday, January 7. Fort Chiswell will attempt to upgrade on its 9-0 season record. The Maroons come into the test with a 6-1 record after their 47-44 non-league loss to Honaker (Honaker, VA).
The Eagles (6-5) will now prepare for their test against Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Blue Devils come into the Mountain Empire test with a 5-1 record. In their last test, Grayson County bounced Carroll County (Hillsville, VA), 55-26, in a non-league test.
