Sheyenne Mustangs (West Fargo, ND) fans exited the stadium happy Thursday as they observed their ice hockey team defeat the host Devils Lake Firebirds (Devils Lake, ND), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs (2-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Fargo South (Fargo, ND). The Bruins come into the non-league challenge with a 3-5 record.

In their next game, the Firebirds battle the Mandan Braves (Mandan, ND) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 4. Devils Lake will attempt to better on its 1-5 season record. The Braves come into the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 2-2 non-league Dickinson (Dickinson, ND).
