In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Gretna Hawks basketball team scored a close 36-33 triumph over the Brookville Bees.
The Hawks (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against Halifax County (South Boston, VA). The Comets go into the non-league contest with a 9-0 record. In their last contest, Halifax County nipped Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA), 56-23, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Bees confront the Glass Hilltoppers (Lynchburg, VA) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Brookville will attempt to better on its 5-3 season record. The Hilltoppers go into the contest with a 0-2 record after their 48-43 non-league loss to Amherst County (Amherst, VA).
