The Asheboro Blue Comets basketball team scored 76 points and held the visiting Montgomery Central Timberwolves to 30 in the Blue Comets league triumph on Friday.
The Blue Comets now sport a 12-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Uwharrie Charter for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 24. Asheboro will meet a Eagles team coming off a 70-65 league loss to Providence Grove (Franklinville, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 5-13.
The Timberwolves (2-15) will now prepare for their contest against Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC). The Grizzlies enter the 3A Conference 47 contest with a 8-9 record. In their last contest, Oak Grove triumphed over Central Davidson (Lexington, NC), 65-64, in a league contest.
