Avoyelles Mustangs (Moreauville, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Rosepine Eagles (Rosepine, LA), 67-66 in a league bout.

With the win, Avoyelles upgrades its record to 3-8 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Hicks (Leesville, LA) to play the Pirates in a non-league bout on Monday, January 23. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 7-10. Hicks lost 63-38 in their recent league bout against Pitkin (Pitkin, LA)

Next up, the Eagles play the Oakdale Warriors (Oakdale, LA) in a 2A District 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Rosepine will attempt to upgrade on its 13-6 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 10-7 record after their 68-41 league win over Holy Savior Menard (Alexandria, LA).
