Stafford Spartans (Stafford, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Bay City Blackcats (Bay City, TX), 64-32 in a league bout.

With the victory, Stafford upgrades its record to 21-7 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to La Marque (La Marque, TX) to play the Cougars in a 4A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 12-15. La Marque won 74-52 in their recent league bout against Brazosport (Freeport, TX)

Next up, the Blackcats play the Iowa Colony Pioneers (Arcola, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 26 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Bay City will attempt to upgrade on its 5-16 season record. The Pioneers come into the bout with a 22-3 record after their 63-47 league win over Sweeny (Sweeny, TX).
