Bernalillo Spartans (Bernalillo, NM) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Del Norte Knights (Albuquerque, NM), 50-45 in a league bout.

With the victory, Bernalillo upgrades its record to 8-11 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Los Alamos (Los Alamos, NM) to play the Hilltoppers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Hilltoppers come into the bout with a record of 7-10. Los Alamos won 65-51 in their recent league bout against Moriarty (Moriarty, NM)

Next up, the Knights play the Albuquerque Academy Chargers (Albuquerque, NM) in a 4A District 6 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Del Norte will attempt to upgrade on its 11-7 season record. The Chargers come into the bout with a 14-3 record after their 72-61 non-league loss to Highland (Albuquerque, NM).
