Bolton Bears (Alexandria, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Caldwell Parish Spartans (Columbia, LA), 63-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Bolton upgrades its record to 10-9 on the season. The Bears travel to Bunkie (Bunkie, LA) to clash with the Panthers in a 3A District 2 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 12-10. Bunkie lost 63-50 in their recent league bout against Marksville (Marksville, LA)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Buckeye Panthers (Buckeye, LA) in a 3A District 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Caldwell Parish will attempt to upgrade on its 12-8 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 15-7 record after their 54-32 league win over Jena (Jena, LA).
