The Bridge City Cardinals (Bridge City, TX) basketball nipped the host West Orange-Stark Mustangs (Orange, TX), 59-56 in Friday's league test.
The Cardinals (17-12) will now prepare for their test against Silsbee (Silsbee, TX). The Tigers go into the 4A Region III District 19 test with a 16-12 record. In their last test, Silsbee got by Little Cypress-Mauriceville (Orange, TX), 80-47, in a league test.
The Mustangs now own a 1-18 record. They play next when they host Vidor for a 4A Region III District 19 test on Tuesday, January 24. West Orange-Stark will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 85-68 league loss to Jasper (Jasper, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 15-14.
