Broadway Gobblers (Broadway, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball team get by the visiting Rockbridge County Wildcats (Lexington, VA), 55-49 in a league battle.

The Gobblers now possess a 9-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Spotswood for a Valley battle on Tuesday, January 24. Broadway will confront a Trailblazers team coming off a 91-29 league win over Turner Ashby (Bridgewater, VA). The Trailblazers record now stands at 13-2.

The Wildcats (7-9) will now prepare for their battle against Harrisonburg (Harrisonburg, VA). The Blue Streaks come into the Valley battle with a 2-13 record. In their last battle, Harrisonburg was nudged by Broadway (Broadway, VA), 64-54, in a league battle.
