Georgia High School Basketball - Islands overwhelmed by Burke County

The Burke County Bears basketball team scored 75 points and restricted the host Islands Sharks to 43 in the Bears league victory on Friday.

The Bears now sport a 11-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wayne County for a AAAA Region 3 contest on Saturday, January 21. Burke County will battle a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 52-45 league win over Southeast Bulloch (Brooklet, GA). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 13-6.

The Sharks (3-16) will now prepare for their contest against Benedictine (Savannah, GA). The Cadets come into the AAAA Region 3 contest with a 8-5 record. In their last contest, Benedictine was routed by New Hampstead (Savannah, GA), 68-65, in a league contest.
