The Newhalen Malamutes (Newhalen, AK) basketball crushed the host Chief Ivan Blunka Eagles (New Stuyahok, AK), 59-38 in Friday's league test.
The Malamutes (10-1) will now prepare for their test against Sand Point (Sand Point, AK). The Eagles go into the 1A Aleutian Chain test with a 4-1 record. In their last test, Sand Point walloped Manokotak (Manokotak, AK), 88-62, in a league test.
The Eagles now own a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to Bristol Bay for a 1A Aleutian Chain test on Saturday, February 4.
